{Simply Engaged: Carey & Joe}

Another post in SBTN's series:

Simply Engaged
A glimpse into my amazing couples and their love.
I mean I am really lucky to have such great peeps!

So here's a little more about the super FUN

{Carey & Joe}
. . .

Wedding Date: March 8th 2014
Wedding Locations: St. John's Church & Lake Union Cafe

{How did you two love birds meet?}

"We met at a mutual friend's Halloween party in 2010. He was dressed as an old man and I was dressed as Rufio, the leader of the lost boys in Hook.  We came in first (Joe) and second (me) place in a costume contest... I was robbed.
Now we dress up together so there's no chance
of me losing to him again!"

{How did he pop the big question?}

"I threw him a big 30th birthday party with about 40 of our friends and family there.  He was giving a speech and at the end made a big show of giving me a present.  It was a Victoria's Secret box, which I thought was totally inappropriate given the fact that our mothers were standing 10 feet away
but there was a Seattle Bride magazine in the box
and when I looked up he was down on one knee. :)"

{What is your fave date spot/activity?}

"hmmm... I don't know if we have a favorite, but Seahawks games and trying new restaurants are something we do quite a bit!"

{What is your fave part about the wedding planning process?}

"Oh gosh, honestly? I don't really love any of it!  I'm really looking forward to the day of, but there are so many decisions to make and so many people who have an input I'm kind of ready for it to just get here. :)  I would say my favorite part is the excitement that all our friends and family will be in the same place at once.  That will be pretty amazing."

{Advice for planning a wedding to other couples?}

"Start early!
The more you can get done ahead of time, the less you'll have to worry about as the day gets closer.  It's a short amount of time between "that's a long way away"  to "that's just around the corner!"

{His faves}
Notre Dame/Seahawks Football
Golf
Sweets
Hummus
Hats (like baseball caps, he has about 50, I swear)
Beer

{Her faves}
Montana/Seahawks Football
Reading
Baking and eating the things I bake (sweets)
Wine
Horseback riding

{What first caught your eye?}

{Joe}
"Her throw up face
(ugh... there's more to the Halloween party story that I will not be making public!)
and her nice legs."

{Carey}
"His sexy old man mask. just kidding. Maybe that he actually talked to me after he saw my "throw up face"? It really wasn't my best night."

{On my wedding day I am most excited about . . .}

{Carey}
"Being able to spend the day with the most important people in our lives and dancing the night away with my husband (eek!)."

{Joe}
"Marrying the love of my life. (he really said that... and I laughed.)"

{Fave meal your fiance makes for you?}

{Carey}
"He makes the best pasta dish every Valentine's Day.  The first time he made it we weren't even officially dating... now I insist it's a tradition we can never give up. :)"

{Joe}
"She makes a mean breakfast sandwich with whatever we happen to have in the fridge."

{If we could travel anywhere for our honeymoon we would . . .}

"We would go where we are going!
We would go to Costa Rica and lay on the beach. go surfing and eat good food."

AND I just got this photo from this Halloween!
Mary and Warren from "There's Something About Mary" . . .
Genius right?!

I mean really aren't they the cutest?!
I know this wedding in March will be one fun party!

Happy Halloween everyone:)
(and happy anniversary to these two love birds meeting!)

I am so lucky to have so many crazy talented peeps in my life.
I get to do this amazingly rewarding and fun job, and I even get paid for it:)

{Maria & Casey's Wedding at Laurel Creek Manor by Everlasting Moments Studio}

Maria & Casey
8.12.12
Laurel Creek Manor
Everlasting Moments Studio
. . .
When I first met Maria I knew we would have fun planning her wedding.
She wanted similar colors for her wedding that I had for mine! Bright colors:)
She was just so sweet.
We had so much fun, and I do miss our planning meetings at Panera Bread:)

Here are just a few photos of the day . . .
Her maid and Casey's daughter watching as they get ready

The guys . . .

The girls (isn't her dress gorg?!)

The coral dresses

Now time for the ceremony . . .
The weather this day was actually on the warmer side, and the guests stayed comfortably in the shade until it was time to start!
Casey's mother actually did all of the flowers for the wedding!!!
She did an amazing job:)

Beautiful bright dahlias!

Their family made this sign for them, to hang right above where their ceremony was held.

I made these menus for the tables, gorg flowers again by Casey's mom.

The cake!

For the escort cards/favors Maria and Casey ordered some custom raspberry fortune cookies.  I printed out the guests names and table numbers and viola! Seating "cards"

We also had a candy bar, which I made these labels for the candy bags

Casey's mom made a "trick" bouquet, which was actually 3 bouquets that broke apart when she threw them.  SO funny!!!

My custom pinwheel backdrop for the photobooth was a hit!
Our gorgeous bride!
(Here I am with Kat from EMS!)
. . .
Update: Maria & Casey are expecting their first baby!!!
I SO love to see how my couples do over the years! :)

You guys will make amazing parents.

Congrats again!!!

{Jenny & Mark Wedding at Ella Bailey Park & Ray's Boathouse by Photo Elan}

8.4.12
Jenny & Mark
Photography by Photo Elan

We had this amazing wedding featured over at Wedding Chicks earlier this year, check it out here!

This wedding was perfect from start to finish.  Our amazingly sunny summer day
(which was like 93 degrees!) helped the park ceremony with the amazing view of Mt. Rainier.

These two are so in love it is apparent through every look they give each other. I am so glad I met these two and was able to help make their wedding dreams a reality.

The eye candy . . .

A locket with a photo of her father, so sweet!

 The boys hanging out (in the shade!) before the ceremony

From Jenny:
"After setting a budget, we decided that a Seattle Summertime wedding would be the best way to show off our beautiful city to our guests — out-of-towners and locals alike! Water and city views were a must have for us, so our ceremony site and reception venue were pretty easily settled upon. We wanted the occasion to reflect us, so our neighborhood park, Ella Bailey Park, offering amazing views of Elliot Bay, was the perfect outdoor setting for a memorable ceremony."

"To honor my dad, who passed away in 2007, the wedding party rolled up in classic Chevy Bel Airs…one of his favorite cars. My sister, the maid of honor, surprised me by attaching his rose gold pocket watch — complete with his photo — to my bouquet. He was there to walk me down the aisle in spirit and I couldn’t have been happier. The ceremony was my favorite part, conducted by the masterful Chaplain Dale. We did a Handfasting Ceremony to literally tie the knot!"

 The views of the ceremony , and the Puget Sound!

 Jennan Oaks has a GORGEOUS voice! So sweet:)

How sweet is it that the moms were holding hands?!

Way to go Mark!

Their adorable pup Gunther was able to be a part of their day, he's so cute!

 Isn't she stunning??!

 Jenny and her twin sis and MOH!

Sisters! Her other sister (in the middle) actually made Jenny and Mark's wedding cake!!! It was amazing:)

 Ceremony Decor: Each table featured a piece of coral holding the table number along with a seaglass bottle from West Elm

In liue of a traditional guest book, each place setting had a mini scroll wrapped around a mini pencil for the guests to write sentiments, wishes and advice to the bride and groom. The messages were dropped into the seaglass bottles as if they were leaving a message in a bottle at the beach — a super cute idea for any coastal wedding!

Oh Happy Day!

The guests sure danced the night away to some fun old school R&B and Hip Hop, SO fun!!! DJ Marc Sense from Integral DJ's even let Jenny step behind his gear and get some fun photos of her mixing beats:)

Update: Mark and Jenny are expecting their first baby now!!! SO fun to watch my couples love and lives grow after their big day:) so happy for you two!!!
